Allo Telecom Branding

The Canadian telephone marketplace has seen the introduction of several mobile telephone services in the past few years, with more competitors to join the fray. Increasingly, more people choose to only have a wireless telephone. Facing increased challenges in their other businesses, especially in the wireless segment, Bell has decided to spin off their residential land-line telephone services, creating a company by the name of “Allo”.

From this scenario, I created a fresh and exciting brand for the new telecom spin off. The “Allo” logo brings a youthful presence to an old and outdated method of communication. It’s round typographic characteristics carry over into advertising campaigns. The logo also is intended to convey the abstract shape of the vintage land line phone. The logo also forms a smiley face to create a sense of welcome and comfort for customers.
